FAQs

Will you accept my insurance?

At this time, appointments are available for private pay and through Aetna and United Healthcare insurance when slots are available.

*I am only credentialed with insurances in the state of CO so you must reside in CO for insurance to be accepted.

If you are paying out of pocket, it is possible for services to be covered fully or partially depending on your current health insurance provider and plan. You would still be responsible for full payment of your sessions but if you would like to try to be reimbursed through your insurance, I can provide you with a superbill each month that you can submit. I recommend that you contact your provider to confirm how your plan compensates you for out of network teletherapy services.

Many clients may intentionally choose to not involve their insurance companies in their mental health care to reduce limitations and increase privacy. Private pay allows for sessions to not have restrictions on duration of therapy or on diagnoses for clients due to insurance eligibility. Being a private pay client offers you more flexibility and control over your mental health records and treatment.

What is your cancellation policy?

As a clinician and as a human, I understand that things will come up last minute. That being said, I request that all cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel or no show within the 24 hour window you will be charged the full session fee. If you need to cancel, please do so via the client portal or email/call/text me.

How long will I be in therapy?

It depends. It is difficult to say how long it will take because each client encompasses their own history, level of commitment, needs, and beliefs that can determine how long it may take to reach their individualized goals. Together, we will come up with a treatment plan that is unique to you and we will check in regularly to ensure that we are on the right path.

How often is therapy?

Initially, sessions are recommended on a weekly basis for at least 8-10 weeks to start. After 10 weeks, we can reevaluate and determine if weekly sessions are still appropriate.

Do you offer an initial consultation?

Yes, I actually require this. Prior to your first session, we will have an initial phone call lasting about 20 minutes to answer any questions you may have and ensure that there is alignment of what you need and what I can provide.

Where is your practice?

My practice is virtual and I can see clients who reside in Colorado on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if they would like to meet in person. My office is located at 1600 Pennsylvania St. Unit 205 Denver, CO 80203.

In my experience, clients are able to engage in virtual therapy and successfully work towards their treatment goals while being in the comfort of their own home. Teletherapy offers more flexibility for clients as well. It is important to me to ensure that every part of the process is secure and confidential.

If I am interested in working with you, what are next steps?

1) Schedule a free consultation call by filling out the form here.

2) We will chat during our free phone consultation to discuss your struggles, goals for therapy, and make sure we are a good fit for one another. It is very important to me that your needs are met and if I feel like your concerns are outside of my capability or scope, I can provide referrals for other therapists who may be more aligned.

3) If we agree that we are a good fit, we will schedule an appointment and the initial paperwork will be sent to your email via a HIPAA compliant platform that manages my practice documents. All paperwork must be completed 48 hours before our initial session. Once the paperwork is completed, I will send you a link for our first session.

4) During our initial sessions, I usually review the paperwork you completed, introduce myself, and get a better understanding of what your treatment goals are. I will meet you where you are at that day; this means that you will not be forced (and will never be forced) to disclose certain things or jump right into the work- it can take time to develop trust and safety with a new person and I completely understand that. Honor yourself, be present, and let’s get to know one another!
